TowneBank plans to expand its 22-acre corporate campus in the Harbour View area of Suffolk.
The campus consists of several administrative facilities, including the 45,000-square-foot Horton Operations Center and a16,000-square-foot corporate training facility, Towne University.
The expansion will bring the construction of a new, 44,201-square-foot, multi-use administrative building. The bank said the two-story member services building would mirror the Horton Operations Center building. Construction is expected to be completed in 2018.
The Harbour View Boulevard campus campus employs 381 people and houses all the bank’s corporate executive offices and operational support activities, including technology, loan and deposit services, electronic delivery, compliance, human resources and marketing.
With more than $8 billion in assets and $5.1 billion in deposits, TowneBank holds Hampton Roads’ largest market share and is one of the largest banks in the state. The bank said in a news release that the expansion plans are the result of preparing for the future by managing and responding to growth.
