The sports entertainment company Topgolf is working on a deal for a location in Henrico County.
The company now has three locations in Virginia — Alexandria, Loudoun County and Virginia Beach — with a total of more than 1,200 employees.
Topgolf said the Henrico location would require about 12 acres. Construction of the venue would take 10 to 12 months to complete after the property is purchased and all necessary approvals are obtained.
Topgolf sites feature golf games using microchipped balls. TV screens instantly show players the accuracy and distance of their shots.
Topgolf venues also serve food and drinks and feature big screen TVs and music in climate-controlled hitting bays. The sites also offer year-round programming events for children and families, social leagues, golf tournaments and golf instruction.

Callaway expects Topgolf Richmond to serve about 450,000 guests annually and have an economic impact of $264.5 million 10 years.
Based in Dallas, Topgolf now has 33 venues in the U.S. and the United Kingdom serving more than 10.5 million guests annually.
