Brandi Hall was Virginia Media Group's human resources generalist

Virginia Beach-based property management firm The Lawson Cos. hired Brandi Hall as its first talent and development manager, it announced Tuesday.
Hall is responsible for hiring and training Lawson employees as well as retaining them. She has 16 years of experience in human resource roles and was most recently the human resources generalist for Norfolk-based Virginia Media Group, which includes The Virginian-Pilot and Daily Press newspapers.
“We’re anxious to leverage Brandi’s experience and insight in creating world-class training opportunities and career paths for Lawson team members,” Julie Richardson, Lawson’s director of human resources, said in a statement. “She’ll play a key role in building a strong and diverse team at Lawson.”
Established in 1972, Lawson manages and owns nearly 6,000 apartment homes and is developing about 1,200 more. The company provides development, construction, property management and asset management.
