A four-year reconstruction project at Richmond’s Jefferson Hotel is complete, the hotel said Wednesday.
In March 2013, the hotel began a three-phase reconstruction project. Its 262 guest rooms have been rebuilt into 181 new rooms, including 15 suites. The enlarged floor plans offer entry foyers, dressing areas and new marbled baths with soaking tubs, walk-in showers and television screens in the vanity mirrors.
Each of the hotel’s public spaces also got a refresh. There are new furnishings in the Rotunda and Palm Court lobbies, and the century-old Rotunda ceiling has been fully restored.
Lemaire, the hotel’s dinner service restaurant and lounge, also received new furnishings. The signature ballroom spaces were redone with new color palettes and draperies, LED lighting and carpeting.
The hotel was recognized this year as both a AAA Five Diamond and Forbes Five Star award winner for 2017, making The Jefferson one of 51 hotels in the U.S. to simultaneously hold these two prestigious designations.
“This extensive project has taken The Jefferson to the next level of luxury,” Joseph Longo, managing director, said in a statement.
