Thalhimer sees 30 percent increase in transaction volume in 2013

Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer reports that total volume in 2013 reached $1.5 billion — a 30 percent increase over 2012 total volume of $1.15 billion.

A robust December with more than 2.65 million square feet of sales and lease transactions gave the Richmond-based firm a nice boost. Its 10 Virginia, North Carolina and South Carolina offices completed 136 lease transactions totaling 1.5 million square feet with a transactional value of more than $63 million.

Industrial building transactions of just over a 1 million square feet accounted for the largest amount of space leased.  Retail and office leases totaled 399,818 and 138,467 square feet, respectively. In addition, Cushman & Wakefield | Thalhimer reported 36 sales transactions totaling more than a million square feet and more than $62 million in sales volume.
