Telecommunications 2023: J.D. MYERS II

Myers has been with Cox since 2006, leading its Virginia operations and now its East Coast region. Earlier this year, the home and business telecommunications and cable TV provider expanded Myers’ role, placing him in charge of day-to-day operations for much of the eastern U.S., including Connecticut, Florida, Georgia, North Carolina, Ohio, Rhode Island and Virginia.

Cox Communications, with nearly 2,000 employees in Virginia, is a division of Cox Enterprises, which has annual revenues of almost $22 billion. In the past year, the company launched Cox Mobile, a mobile phone service available to Cox Internet customers around the United States.

Myers has three degrees from American University: a bachelor’s in business administration and MBAs in finance and marketing. He is also a Yale School of Management graduate certified in fostering inclusion and diversity. He serves on the Virginia Chamber of Commerce board and is vice chair of the Hampton Roads Alliance board.
