A Swiss company that’s operated in Culpeper County since the 1930s announced a $15 million expansion on Wednesday that’s expected to create 30 jobs. TE Connectivity Ltd.’s plant in Culpeper designs and manufactures undersea fiber optic telecommunication cables, electro-optical-mechanical cables and steel wire.

TE Connectivity Ltd. creates products for the automotive, broadband communications and healthcare industries, among others. It has 90,000 employees around the world.

Gov. Bob McDonnell approved a $100,000 grant from the Governor’s Opportunity Fund for the project.
