Dana D. McDaniel has been elected managing director of Spotts Fain PC, a Richmond law firm.
The appointment was effective on Monday.
McDaniel will succeed Hugh M. Fain III, who has been Spotts Fain’s managing director since 1999.
McDaniel, a shareholder at the firm since 2004, focuses his practice focuses on intellectual property and information technology litigation and transactions.
He previously chaired the firm’s litigation practice and is head of its intellectual property and technology section.
In a recent survey by Virginia Business, Spotts Fain ranked as the 31st largest law firm in Virginia.
