Snagajob, America’s largest hourly employment for job seekers, Tuesday announced the release of a free app designed to help people seeking hourly employment.

According to the Henrico-based company, the app for iOS and Android phones makes the job-hunting process easier by using a smartphone’s or tablet’s video, photo and GPS technology. With more than 15,000 jobs added daily, Snagajob said that people could search for and apply to more than 500,000 jobs across many industries, including restaurant, retail and customer service.

Once a free Snagajob account is established, users can find positions and submit an application through a one-click feature.

The app’s video feature lets job seekers record and upload  short clips to include with their applications. Applicants can also upload photos.

By using the device’s GPS technology, the app can locate positions in the users’ areas, so that they can see job opportunities and their locations.

For those seeking employment in a different location, such as college students about to return to school or a person relocating to a new part of the country, the app allows users to input locations that they would like to search.

“In a matter of seconds, a job seeker can find and apply for a job in a way that's easier, faster and fundamentally more personal, by allowing them to make a true first impression, leveraging photo and video, all from their mobile device,” Snagajob CEO Peter Harrison said in a statement.

“With so many people across the country still struggling to find employment, the Snagajob app is a simple way to find jobs that match a candidate’s background.”
