Shoppers World in Charlottesville, a 169,000-square-foot shopping center with retail and restaurant tenants, is getting a new name. Owner Federal Realty Investment Trust has announced that the center will now be known 29th Place.

The new name is part of a major property renovation, which includes architectural improvements, entrance enhancements and a new mix of retailers and restaurants.

29th Place was inspired by the connection between the land and its road systems near U.S. 29.

Acquired by Federal Realty in 2007, 29th Place is attracting new tenants. DSW, Home Goods and Lane Bryant are slated to open in early spring 2013. Current tenants include Staples, Starbucks, Stein Mart, and DSW Designer Shoe Warehouse.
