Howard Shockey & Sons Inc. in Winchester announced two new senior management hires to expand the firm’s expertise in the growing medical and biotechnology construction sectors.
Tommy Tortorich has been named project manager. Tortorich specializes in construction for health-care, pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. Previously with HITT Contracting and StructureTone in Northern Virginia, Tortorich has headed design-build and fast-track projects such as the Howard Hughes Medical Institute and medical office building consolidations for Kaiser Permanente.
Brett Kass also has been named project manager. Kass also specializes in construction for health-care and biotechnology clients, having built more than 2 million square feet of health-care projects for clients such as Kaiser Permanente, Inova Health System and the U.Va. Medical Center. Kass was formerly employed by Jacobs, Turner Construction and Barton Malow.
Andrea Rogers has been tapped to expand Shockey’s business development and marketing in the greater Washington D.C. area, including Northern Virginia and suburban Maryland. In her new role, Rogers will be responsible for developing new client relationships and managing existing relationships. Rogers joined Shockey in 2012 as a marketing research specialist.
