Tony Sabatino was named as CEO of Herndon-based Securitas Critical Infrastructure Services, Inc. (SCIS), the company announced Wednesday.

Sabatino replaces Kevin Sandkuhler, who is retiring.

Sabatino has 28 years of experience with Securitas USA (SUSA), where he served as executive vice president of its North American division. He coordinated acquisitions, including the company’s 2017 Diebold Electronic Security purchase.

“Over the past 10 months, Tony initiated and coordinated the creation of a long-term development strategy for SCIS, which identified adjacent growth areas within the federal market,” said SCIS Board Chairman James Freeze in a statement. “As CEO, Tony will lead us in the execution of this strategy and beyond.”

SCIS was founded in 2013 and employs more than 14,000 people. The company provides security and fire services to the nuclear, aerospace, defense, energy and government sectors.
