SAIC reorganizes corporate departments

McLean-based Science Applications International Corporation (SAIC) has announced a reorganization of a number of corporate departments.

The company’s CEO, Tony Moraco, also is restructuring his management team. The functions of information technology, communications, and corporate development will report directly to top management.

Tom Baybrook, SAIC’s executive vice president and chief administration and operations officer, will retire from the company to pursue other interests.

His responsibilities for real estate, contracts, procurement, shared services, government affairs, and business development operations will be reassigned to other executives.

“This realignment is a continuation of our efforts to streamline operations and improve market competitiveness,” Moraco said in a statement. “Elevating the three functions to the executive leadership team also is designed to enable SAIC to be more proactive and responsive to market requirements and opportunities.”

SAIC was spun off after the original SAIC was divided in two in late September.

SAIC, which retained the government technical services and enterprise IT businesses, is expected to record annual revenue of $4 billion.

The other part of  the old SAIC is Leidos, which focuses on national security, health and engineering solutions. It has a projected annual revenue of $7 billion.
