Ten lawyers from Richmond-based law firm Sands Anderson PC have left to form a small practice dedicated to representing health-care providers.
The new practice, Wimbish Gentile McCray & Roeber PLLC, began operations April 1.
“We look forward to continuing to serve our clients in our new firm,” Joel McCray, managing partner of the firm, said in a statement. “We will be able to do so more efficiently in a smaller firm with a singular focus on the legal needs of Virginia healthcare providers.”
The practice includes four former shareholders of Sands Anderson: McCray, Carlyle R. “Randy” Wimbish, III, Colleen M. Gentile and Kenneth T. Roeber.
The practice also includes six former lawyers from Sands Anderson, three paralegals and three professional assistants.
The new firm’s primary practice areas will be the defense of medical malpractice cases and the representation of health-care providers before the Boards of Medicine, Dentistry, Psychology and Nursing.
