Richmond Fed names COO

The Federal Reserve Bank of Richmond has named Mark L. Mullinix first vice president and chief operating officer.

Mullinix will oversee the financial services and support areas starting June 1. He is following Sally Green, who is retiring from in May, after working for the Federal Reserve for more than 35 years.

Mullinix is currently executive vice president with the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco. He is responsible for the systems’ cash product office and the Los Angeles branch.

He began his career with the fed in 1986 as a check service supervisor at the Kansas City Federal Reserve Bank. In 1994 he moved to the Bank’s Oklahoma City branch as vice president and branch manager before moving to the Los Angeles branch of the San Francisco Fed in 1996.  He began serving as senior vice president in charge of all branch operations. He increasingly took on more responsibilities and in 2000 was named to his current role as executive vice president of the San Francisco Fed.
