Richmond-based Atlantic Constructors Inc. (ACI) named Evan Shriver as its CEO, replacing founding CEO Art Hungerford, the company announced Monday. Hungerford will transition into the role of chairman.
ACI is an industrial and commercial contractor with offices in Richmond, Newport News, Roanoke and Hampton Roads. The company employs more than 800 people.
Shriver most recently served as ACI’s executive vice president of construction operations. He joined the company in 2013, and prior to that he worked for other mechanical contractors such as Allentown, Pennsylvania-based H.T. Lyons Inc. and Rockingham County-based Riddleberger Brothers Inc. In total, he has more than 15 years of experience in the construction industry.
During his career he has been involved with several health care campus expansion projects, including the Winchester Medical Center campus expansion, the Battle Building at the University of Virginia Children’s Hospital, Children’s Hospital of Richmond at Virginia Commonwealth University and the VCU Health Community Memorial Hospital.
Shriver is a Virginia registered professional engineer and has a certificate of management in lean construction, is LEED-accredited and is an ASSE-certified medical gas inspector. He earned a bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering at Virginia Tech and a master’s degree in business administration from James Madison University.
