Reston-based professional services company Caliburn International LLC announced Tuesday it has promoted Mike Reynolds to vice president of risk management.

With more than 35 years of experience, Reynolds joined Caliburn in 2020 as a program manager for risk management, supporting U.S. Department of State task orders in Erbil, Iraq and Somalia. Reynolds is a U.S. Marine Corps veteran and for 25 years worked in law enforcement with the city of Raleigh Police Department in North Carolina. He retired from law enforcement with the rank of captain.

“Mike Reynolds has the professional experience and proven leadership skills to help Caliburn achieve best-in-class performance and to rapidly expand our security services around the world,” Caliburn Chief Operating Officer C.D. Moore said in a statement. “I’m proud to welcome him to our team.”

Before joining Caliburn, Reynolds served as the vice president of Department of Defense Operations and program manager for the U.S. Department of State Security Forces at the U.S. Embassy in Kabul, Afghanistan. He also served as deputy program manager for the U.S. Security Forces at the U.S. Embassy in Iraq. Reynolds earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from Columbia Southern University.

Caliburn provides professional services (consulting, engineering, medical and environmental) to federal government agencies and commercial clients. The company employs approximately 7,000 people across five continents.
