Leidos has named Maureen Waterston as its new chief human resources officer, the Reston-based Fortune 500 federal contractor announced Tuesday.
Waterston most recently served in the same position at Pratt & Whitney, a Connecticut-based subsidiary of Raytheon Technologies.
At Leidos, Waterston will be responsible for implementing and enhancing human capital strategy for its 43,000-employee workforce.
“We’re excited to welcome Maureen to the Leidos team and leverage her impressive background and expertise to enhance our HR strategy,” said Leidos Chairman and CEO Roger Krone. “Her excitement and commitment to our people will bring new innovations to serving our customers while building an industry-leading experience here at Leidos.”
Waterston has more than 30 years experience in human resources. She joined Pratt & Whitney in 1997 and moved to Otis Elevator in 2009, becoming vice president of human resources for UTC Building & Industrial Systems, the combined Otis and UTC climate controls and security business units, according to a Leidos news release. She rejoined Pratt & Whitney in 2015.
Maureen has a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the University of New Brunswick in Canada and a master’s degree in industrial relations from the University of Toronto.
Earlier this week, the Department of Defense announced Leidos had been awarded an $11.5 billion network consolidation contract.
