Seeking to provide job opportunities to blue-collar workers and skilled tradespeople, Malone started Groundworks in 2016.
With more than 700 employees in the state and 4,300 worldwide, Groundworks provides residential foundation and water management solutions, including foundation repair, basement waterproofing, crawl space repair and encapsulation, plumbing, gutter installation, and concrete lifting services.
Groundworks operates more than 50 offices and has landed on the Inc. 5000 list of the nation’s fastest-growing private companies. This year, Malone was also named an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year for the mid-Atlantic region.
Groundworks is a corporate sponsor for Habitat for Humanity International, St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, and the Lt. Michael P. Murphy Memorial Scholarship Foundation. Malone also is founder and managing partner for Succession Capital Partners, a private equity firm he started in 2009, and has held several executive positions in commercial plumbing, environmental services and ship-repair companies he co-founded. He is an alumnus of Hampden-Sydney College and the University of Glasgow.
