Primera Air officially launched nonstop service to London Stansted Airport on Thursday.
The airline will operate five nonstop, roundtrip flights per week to London Stansted Airport, located in Essex County, roughly an hour outside of London.
“This new service taking flight represents a key avenue for increased business and trade investment from the United Kingdom and across the European continent,” Gov. Ralph Northam said in a statement.
The governor’s office said that 560,000 overseas travelers visited Virginia in 2017. About 80,000 of those visitors were from the United Kingdom.
