Preferred Systems Solutions acquires Global Services & Solutions Inc

Tysons Corner-based Preferred Systems Solutions (PSS) has acquired Global Services & Solutions Inc. in Arlington in a move to enhance PSS’ position as a defense contractor.

“The acquisition of GSS strengthens our long standing commitment to working with our government partners to efficiently and effectively accomplish their critical national security missions,” Scott Goss, the CEO of PSS, said in a statement.

Financial details of the acquisition were not released.

Global Services & Solutions (GSS) provides acquisition and program support, engineering and technical expertise, and consulting services for major weapons systems acquisition programs.

Preferred Systems Solutions (PSS) provides information technology, enterprise resource planning, program management, and financial consulting services.

Jim Ballard, the president of GSS, will become president of PSS Federal Services Group. He has more than 40 years of executive-level management and leadership experience in government services.

He was chief operating officer and president of Perot Systems Government Services, which grew from $57 million to $650 million in annual revenues under his tenure.

PSS’ current clientele includes U.S. Army, Navy, Defense Logistics Agency, Transportation Command and the departments of Homeland Security and State.
