The Port of Virginia has promoted two of its executives in its final move as part of its reorganization.
Joseph P. Ruddy, the chief operations officer at the port, has been appointed chief innovation officer for the Port of Virginia. He will oversee the strategic planning, engineering, information technology and sustainability teams.
Shawn Tibbets, who has been senior vice president of operations at the port, will become chief operations officer. He will continue to focus on initiatives to increase efficiency, improve cargo velocity and develop consistency throughout port operations.
The Port of Virginia has been undergoing a reorganization of the Virginia Port Authority (VPA) and its operating arm, Virginia International Terminals. John Reinhart, the CEO and executive director of the VPA, said these promotions conclude the port’s reorganization.
