Polymer Solutions Inc. announced Tuesday it’s investing $2.9 million to expand in Montgomery County. The testing lab company will move its headquarters from Blacksburg Industrial Park to a 20,000-square-foot facility which it will build at Falling Branch Corporate Park in Christiansburg. Polymer Solutions expects to create a minimum of five jobs through the expansion.

Polymer Solutions provides chemical analysis, testing and consultation for companies in the medical device, pharmaceutical, packaging, aerospace, defense, and manufacturing industries. The company was founded by Virginia Tech graduate Jim Rancourt in 1987. Today it employs 31 people in the area.
