EASTERN VIRGINIA

Elizabeth “Betsy” Duke, former chief operating officer for TowneBank in Hampton Roads, planned to step down from the board of the Federal Reserve System around the end of August. Duke’s term ended in January 2012, but she has stayed on the board under a policy that lets governors serve until they are replaced. (The Virginian-Pilot)
