Sherrie R. The U.S. Senate has confirmed two federal nominees to the board of the Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority.  William Shaw McDermott, a partner at K&L Gates, will replace Robert Clarke Brown. Nina Mitchell Wells, who served as New Jersey secretary of state from 1998 to 2004, will take the seat held by Charles D. Snelling, who died last year. (The Washington Post)
