A national chain has an appetite for the Hampton Roads market.
Panera LLC bought for $950,000 the land at 1009 University Boulevard at Hampton Roads Crossing in Suffolk, according to Divaris Real Estate.
The seller of the 1.1-acre site was Terry/Peterson Investment Thrifty LLC.
Panera plans to build a 4,500-square-foot location there, Divaris said in a press release. The fast-casual bakery and café is closing a nearby location.
Hampton Roads Crossing is anchored by a Kroger Marketplace store. Other tenants at the shopping center include DSW, ULTA, Petco and Five Guys.
Levi Thomson of Divaris represented the seller in the deal.
