Don Godwin has been named the CFO and vice president of business management of the Newport News Shipbuilding division of Huntington Ingalls Industries.
Godwin will assume the role Sept. 5. He succeeds Mike Helpinstill, who is joining HII’s corporate staff as vice president of strategic transactions.
Godwin most recently was CFO of Hitachi Data Systems Federal, which is based in Reston. He previously was CFO of Harris Corp. and its predecessor companies.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Virginia Tech and is a CPA.
