New York–based MS Consultants opens Virginia Beach office

MS Consultants LLC, a company specializing in cost-segregation studies and other tax-saving ideas for real estate owners and developers, has opened an office in Virginia Beach.

The company said the office, at 780 Lynnhaven Parkway, is a response to the company’s rapid growth as it focuses on new opportunities along the East Coast.

Besides cost-segregation studies, MS offers energy consulting, repair vs. capitalization analysis, fixed-asset reviews and research and development tax incentives.

All services support the reduction of current income tax obligations of real estate owners by identifying and reclassifying personal property assets. The firm says it also can provide expertise on Tangible Property Regulations, which were issued by the Internal Revenue Service in September 2013. These regulations impact almost all businesses that acquire, produce, replace or improve tangible property.

“Expanding our firm to a multi-location and multi-state division has been a goal since we started in 1998,” Philip Mann, managing partner of MS Consultants, said in a statement.

Currently, most of the company’s employees are based in its Buffalo and Rochester, New York offices. “The Virginia Beach location will allow members of our growing team to be closer to some of our cornerstone clients and will enable us to start building a strong foundation for future opportunities.”

Ashley Sullivan, a cost segregation manager at MS Consultants, will manage the new office.
