Quaker Steak & Lube, a casual dining restaurant themed around gas station and automotive memorabilia, continues to expand in Virginia with a fifth location in Bristol. It will open Wednesday, June 4, creating 100 jobs for the area.
The restaurant, in a 7,055-square-foot space at 629 State St., will be able to accommodate seating for more than 230 people.
The location will have two bars and a covered patio.
The Sharon, Pa.- based chain founded in 1974 has more than 60 locations in the U.S.
Meanwhile, the first Firehouse Subs location has opened in Charlottesville. The store is located in 29th Place at 100 Shoppers World Court.
Debbie Wake, senior vice president in Divaris Real Estate Inc.’s Richmond office, represented Firehouse in the negotiations. Divaris also has represented Firehouse Subs in site selection and lease negotiations for the majority of its Hampton Roads sites as well as several locations in the Richmond area.
