Isle of Wight County has tapped one of its own to oversee its economic development department.
Christopher Morello began as economic development director for Isle of Wight County Sept. 1.
Morello has worked in local government for more than two decades. He previously worked as Isle of Wight’s assistant director of economic development – a job he started in July 2017. Prior to Isle of Wight, Morello worked for Newport News from 2000 to 2017 and in North Carolina for the City of Albemarle from 1992 to 1995.
Morello has a Master of Public Administration from University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill and did his undergraduate work at James Madison University.
