A health-care executive has been tapped to serve as the new CEO of StoneSprings Hospital Center in Dulles.
Matt Mathias will take over as CEO of the HCA Virginia Health System-affiliated hospital on Jan. 1.
Mathias has been with HCA for 14 years. He most recently served as chief operating officer at HCA’s Clear Lake Regional Medical Center, a 531-bed hospital in Houston.
Prior to Clear Lake, Mathias served in various administrative roles throughout Virginia at LewisGale Hospital Montgomery in Blacksburg; LewisGale Alleghany in Covington; and Henrico Doctors’ Hospital in Richmond.
“I am pleased to welcome Matt as the CEO of StoneSprings Hospital Center,” John Deardorff, president and CEO of HCA’s Northern Virginia Market, said in a statement. “He has a strong track record in growing complex clinical service lines in a highly competitive market, while increasing employee, patient and physician engagement.”
Mathias earned his bachelor’s degree in health services administration from James Madison University. He also earned a master’s degree in health administration from Virginia Commonwealth University.
