Danny Fell, the president Neathawk Dubuque & Packett since 2012, has assumed the additional role of CEO.
The move is part of the long-term succession plan for the advertising, marketing and public relations firm., which has offices in Roanoke and Richmond.
Roger Neathawk, 74, who has served as CEO and chairman of the firm, is stepping down from day-to-day management to become non-executive chairman of an expanded board of directors.
Fell, based in Chattanooga, Tenn., joins controller Michelle Ward on the new board along with founding partners Neathawk, Susan Dubuque and Chuck Miller.
Neathawk, who has led the agency for nearly 30 years, will maintain an office in Richmond. In addition to chairing the company’s board, he will continue to represent the firm in the community and serve as an adjunct faculty member at Virginia Commonwealth University’s Department of Health Administration.
Fell, 48, has more than 20 years of marketing experience. He leads strategic consulting efforts for many clients and has overseen the firm’s interactive and new media team. In 2012, Fell received the John A. Eudes Vision & Excellence Award for his work in online healthcare marketing.
In addition to offices in Richmond, Roanoke and Chattanooga, the firm has offices in Charlotte and Durham, N.C., and Tampa, Fla.
