The May 21st grand opening of The Esplanade at National Harbor will give the 350-acre, mixed-use waterfront project on the banks of the Potomac River in Maryland its first apartment community.
The $70 million, mid-rise, 262-unit project is targeted for the high-end, luxury renter.
Rents range from $1,675 to $3,100 per month for homes ranging from a studio apartment to three-bedrooms units.
According to the developer, The Buzzuto Group, the first residents moved in in January. The building is about 20 percent occupied and 34 percent leased. The community’s first rental project will add to the townhome and condominium housing already up at National Harbor, located across the Potomac from Old Town Alexandria.
The Esplanade also includes 14,400 square feet of retail and a 420-space parking garage. Among its amenities are a clubhouse with business center, conference room and media theatre, a pool, courtyard with a fire pit and an outdoor kitchen with grills. The project was designed by Heffner Architects and Hartman Design Group.
Residents also are within close proximity to National Harbor’s stores, restaurants, waterfront and entertainment venues, whichsoon will include an MGM Resorts International hotel and casino that's scheduled to open in summer of 2016.
