NAIOP is seeking submissions for 2015 commercial real estate awards program

Northern Virginia’s largest commercial real estate awards program is seeking submissions, and this year there’s a free seminar on how to submit a winning entry.

The Best of NAIOP’s awards (the Northern Virginia chapter of the Commercial Real Estate Development Association) recognizes significant new contributions to Northern Virginia by the commercial, industrial and mixed-use real estate community. The Nov. 19, awards gala is the chapter's premier event, drawing nearly 1,000 people.

Submissions are due Wednesday, Sept.  30. People can download the entry form at from the organization’s Website at http://www.naiopva.org/.

The free seminar is scheduled for Aug. 18, starting at 8 a.m. at the office of Balfour Beatty, at 11325 Random Hills Rd., #500, in Fairfax. Speakers David Birtwistle of Northern Virginia Transportation Alliance
and Chuck Claar of Hubert Construction will discuss how people should go about assembling a submission package, including writing techniques for the narrative and finding and taking photos for a project. One of the judges will share insights about the judging process. Attendees also will have the opportunity to view some of the winning entries from previous years to see what made those entries stand out.
