Richmond-based D1 Moving & Storage has acquired Richmond Commercial Services.
The deal includes the RCS name, all employees, moving trucks, equipment and two warehouses.
Financial details of the acquisition were not dislosed.
Founded in 1994, RCS is a commerial moving and records storage company.
D1 was founded in 2015 in Charlottesville. Now based in Richmond, it has a second location in Alexandria.
RCS will move its office and operations to D1’s headquarters at 4817 Bethlehem Road in Richmond.
D1’s growth strategy includes diversifying its services, opening additional locations and expanding its workforce.
With the RCS acquisition, the company will have more than 50 employees, 15 moving trucks and four warehouses.
