MI Technical Solutions Inc. (MITS) is investing $100,000 to expand its IT and cybersecurity operation in Chesapeake due to increased demand from the U.S. Navy. The project will create 15 jobs.
MITS CEO Michael Ihrig said that over the years the company has hired numerous local military veterans, including Navy personnel. “We look forward to hiring similar types of individuals in the next few years as we continue to grow and expand,” he said in a statement.
MITS has been providing engineering and technical services to government and commercial organizations since 2004. The company is a Woman-Owned Small Business (WOSB) that concentrates on software life cycle maintenance, security and analysis.
The Virginia Economic Development Partnership will provide MI Technical Solutions’ with up to $12,750 in funds through its Virginia Jobs Investment Program (VJIP). VJIP provides consulting and funding to companies creating new jobs or experiencing technological change to support employee training.
