Mercury Paper announced Thursday it is expanding its Strasburg operations and creating 96 new jobs by early next year.
Mercury Paper produces household paper products, including FIORA toilet paper and paper towels, which are manufactured for Oasis Brands, which is headquartered in Winchester. These companies have made FIORA tissue the fastest-growing retail tissue brand in the U.S.
Company officials said Virginia offered the workforce needed by Mercury Paper and a strategic location.
“Shenandoah County gives us access to a growing, skilled workforce and a well-developed transportation system to service major markets and key customers’ main distribution centers,” Nathan Hanson, Oasis Brands’ CEO and Mercury Paper’s chairman, said in a statement.
