McLean-based defense contractor E3/Sentinel LLC announced Monday it has acquired Reston-based Lucid Perspectives, a software and systems engineering company. This is E3/Sentinel’s fifth acquisition in the past two years.

Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

E3/Sentinel acquired Data Works in August 2019, and under this acquisition, Lucid’s operations will be combined with Data Works.

“We are thrilled to continue to add highly educated, technical and cleared professionals, desirable contracts and skill sets to our mission-focused platform,” E3/Sentinel CEO Andy Maner said in a statement. “By combining the industry leading capabilities of Lucid and Data Works, we will provide our existing government clients and our prime contractors even more resources to advance their mission needs in a fast-evolving era of government contracting and support.”

Founded in 2016, Lucid specializes in software, cyber, network and systems engineering, primarily serving Intelligence Community clients. E3/Sentinel offers data engineering, advanced analytics and software development services to the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, U.S. Department of Defense and the U.S. Intelligence Community.

“We’re excited to join the E3/Sentinel family and further expand their already robust offerings for the Intelligence Community, Department of Homeland Security and the Department of Defense and Civilian agencies,” Mike McDaniel, Lucid co-founder and CEO, said in a statement. “Our organizations are strategically aligned, from E3/Sentinel’s strong, employee-first culture to their investment in building comprehensive, integrated solutions for customers, we see significant and exciting synergies working together.”

Owned by NewSpring Holdings, E3/Sentinel also announced it will rebrand its platform later in 2020 to streamline its brands.
