The Maymont Foundation in Richmond has named Anne Du Bois to the newly created position of director of advancement and development. She will join the foundation’s senior leadership on May 19.
Since 1975, the foundation has operated Maymont, the former estate of James and Sallie Dooley, which includes gardens, a children’s farm, wildlife preserve, nature center and the Dooley mansion.
Du Bois has served as associate vice president of development and alumni relations and director of university principal gifts at Virginia Commonwealth University.
She joined VCU in 2004 and has worked in many different roles including senior campaign director of the $410 million capital campaign that was completed in 2007, strategic planning, donor cultivation and stewardship, and alumni relations.
Prior to VCU, Du Bois’ development career included jobs with the University of Richmond School of Law, the Science Museum of Virginia and the University of Virginia.
