The Washington Real Estate Investment Trust (WRIT) is planning a major renovation of its 540,000-square-foot office complex in Tysons that is visible from the Capital Beltway.
WRIT is planning both interior and exterior renovations, including a new glass curtain-wall façade on the tows, which will create floor-to-ceiling windows in new tenant spaces and an illuminated two-story entryway visible from Westpark Drive. The renovations are expected to cost between $30 million and $35 million.
The project, at 7900 Westpark Drive, is expected to begin in the fourth quarter of 2013.
WRIT also announced that the building, along with its 2000 M Street building, have received LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification. The office complex in Tysons received a Silver rating, and the office in Washington received a Gold rating.
