Atlanta-based MagMutual announced Tuesday it promoted Jeff Shawcross to regional vice president for business development for Virginia.

In his new role, Shawcross will implement MagMutual’s strategic initiatives in the commonwealth.

His past experience includes working for The Doctors Co., CNA Insurance Cos. and Crawford and Co.

MagMutual provides malpractice insurance in 20 states.
