Richmond-based brand communications firm Madison+Main on Thursday announced that it has promoted Chief Operating Officer Molly Whitfield to president, effective March 1. Whitfield, who will continue in her COO role, is the second president in the firm’s 15 years in business.
Whitfield began working with the agency in 2007 and is Madison+Main’s longest-tenured staff member. Whitfield replaces the agency’s founder, Dave Saunders, who will transition into a role as chief idea officer, leading the firm’s creative and strategy teams.
Whitfield’s other positions at the firm have included operations manager and director of operations. She became a partner in the firm and took on the COO role in 2017. Whitfield earned her bachelor’s degree in mass communications from Virginia Commonwealth University.
Madison+Main’s clients include Bold Rock Cider, Chesapeake Economic Development, Maola Local Dairies (formerly Marva Maid), New Kent Winery, NC4, Richmond Raceway, the Virginia Hospital and Healthcare Association and the Virginia Office of the Attorney General.
