Louisa County has purchased 684 acres for a future industrial park for $2.6 million.
The land is located off Interstate 64 at the Shannon Hill exit. Bill Barnett of Commonwealth Commercial Partners handled the assemblage.
The county originally had planned to create a megasite of 1,600 to 1,700 acres that included the property in response to encouragement by Virginia economic development officials.
“Louisa County officials recognized that large tracts suitable for major facilities are difficult to identify and hope this new property will attract future users,” Commonwealth Partners said in its release.
