Buddy Rizer has been selected as director of economic development for Loudoun County. Rizer has been acting as director since Aug. 1, when former director Tom Flynn resigned.
“I’ve always said that this is one of the great economic development jobs anywhere in the country. Loudoun County has a supportive Board of Supervisors, a very involved business community, and a great team of economic development professionals on staff,” Rizer said in a statement.
The director is responsible for the county’s overall economic development strategies for attracting new business, reinvestment and job creation.
Rizer began working for Loudoun County in 2007 and was named assistant director of economic development in 2012. Before that, he worked in radio, including positions such as owner/operator, program director, brand manager and on-air personality.
