LMI lands $50M DOD contract

The Department of Defense awarded Tysons-based government and defense consultancy LMI a $50 million contract to help manage various elements of logistics operation associated with both commercial and federal supply chains.

LMI will support the transportation, maintenance, supply chain and contingency management aspects of DOD logistics for the assistant secretary of defense for sustainment, the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Logistics (ODASD Logistics) and the Office of the Deputy Assistant Secretary of Defense for Materiel Readiness.

“The award of this contract continues LMI’s legacy of support to the government and helps to ensure continuity in OSD’s reform efforts to improve readiness and lethality,” Stu Jones, director of LMI’s supply chain management practice, said in a statement. “We are focused on helping ODASD Logistics frame policy and guidance to increase readiness and efficiency within the DoD.”

LMI has been working with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, military services and defense agencies for six decades. Founded in 1961, LMI provides IT, analytics, logistics and management advisory services to federal clients. The company was originally formed to support the U.S. Department of Defense’s logistics management. Last year, the company reported $329 million in revenue.
