Herndon-based LGS Innovations said Thursday it has acquired Dulles-based contractor Axios Inc. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.
LGS says that the acquisition boosts its national security services and application development capabilities.
Axios provides services for the Department of Defense and Intelligence communities. The company works in the fields of communications, digital signal processing, software, network engineering, system engineering, and system integration. It has more than 120 employees.
Axios will serve as a subsidiary of LGS.
The acquisition is LGS’ first since it was purchased from Alcatel-Lucent by Madison Dearborn Partners and CoVant in 2014.
LGS offers research and development in the areas of wireless communications, radio frequency (RF) spectrum analysis, cybersecurity, fiber optic and free-space optical communications, and mobile broadband technologies. It employs over 800 workers worldwide and has offices in Colorado, Florida, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New Mexico, Arizona, and North Carolina.
