Elizabeth “Liz” Porter promoted at Reston-based Fortune 500 company

Reston-based federal contractor Leidos announced Monday that Elizabeth “Liz” Porter has been promoted as the company’s health group president. She will report to Chairman and CEO Roger Krone.
Porter had been serving as acting health group president since March 9 and had previously served as operation manager for the Leidos Civil Group’s Federal Energy & Environment business. Her career has been focused on critical infrastructure system engineering and technology, business development and program management. She had previously served in several leadership roles with Lockheed Martin.
The health group at Leidos is a $2 billion business that employs 7,500 people. The group provides technology and life sciences services for patient care, providers and payer operations. In her new role, Porter will oversee all Health Group activities including business growth, technology development and leadership.
“Through her experience leading operations for the civil group, and recently as acting president of the health group, Liz has demonstrated a track record of driving our business and generating growth,” Krone said in a statement. “As the health market continues to expand and evolve, we are fortunate to leverage her expertise going forward.”
Porter earned her bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Villanova University and her master’s degree in business administration from the University of Colorado, Colorado Springs. A military spouse, she serves on the industrial advisory board to the engineering department at Villanova University. Porter also serves on the board of the American Red Cross of the National Capital Region and is a member of the Healthcare Leadership Council.
With annual revenues of $11.09 billion last year and 37,000 employees, Leidos is a Fortune 500 company that specializes in technology and engineering services for federal defense agencies.
