S. Gulu Gambhir has been named chief technology officer at Reston-based Leidos, a national security, health and engineering solutions company created in the recent division of operations at Fortune 500 corporation SAIC.
Gambhir was acting corporate chief technology officer and CTO of the company’s national security sector.
He will lead the corporate Office of Technology while continuing his sector-level responsibilities.
Before joining SAIC in 2009, Gambhir was director of Northrop Grumman's science and technology operating unit.
Gambhir holds a bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering from the University of Virginia and a master’s in operations research and a doctorate in systems engineering from The George Washington University.
Leidos has 23,000 employees and had about $6 billion in revenue on a pro-forma basis.
After spinning off its technical, engineering and enterprise IT business (which kept the SAIC name) in late September, the company rebranded itself as Leidos and moved its headquarters from Tysons Corner to Reston.
