Before joining Greenberg Traurig, Sklaire worked for the U.S. Department of Justice as a trial attorney, special assistant U.S. attorney and assistant U.S. attorney. He’s taken that experience with him into private practice, representing clients in government investigations and business crimes. Sklaire is often quoted in national publications due to his extensive experience in public corruption and securities fraud cases, as well as representing clients who face parallel civil and criminal cases.
The University of Vermont and American University Washington College of Law graduate also practices commercial litigation, focusing on the financial services industry, representing banks, consumer finance companies and mortgage bankers in complex litigation in federal and appellate courts.
Sklaire is a past president of the Federal Bar Association Criminal Law Section and serves on the board of directors of Ayuda, a nonprofit providing legal, social and language services to low-income immigrants in Washington, D.C., Maryland and Virginia.
