Lavoie leads the Reston office of an international law firm that employs 1,500 attorneys in 17 offices in the United States, Asia and Europe. The location puts this office in the “technology hotbed in Northern Virginia,” says Lavoie, who heads the firm’s real estate practice group.
Lavoie’s clients include institutional and individual landlords and tenants involved in major lease transactions, data center leasing and development, and corporate headquarters projects.
The Catholic University of America graduate started his career in real estate, as a senior associate for global real estate advisory firm The Staubach Co., where he located sites and negotiated leases for clients in the mid-Atlantic region. He earned a law degree from Georgetown University Law Center and was previously a partner at surety firm Watt, Tieder, Hoffar & Fitzgerald. He is general counsel for the Northern Virginia Chamber of the National Association of Industrial and Office Parks.
